Cheesecake ( Adapted from Junior Cheesecake in NYC)
Happy Wednesday All !
Hope you had a wonderful day on this rainy day ( in my area ).
This Cheesecake is my husband favorite. He discovered this when we lived in NY. Since then, we tried to make it ourselves. And we found this recipe online.
We tweaked the size a little bit smaller because we used a graham cracker pie crust and it is simpler too. This recipe was good enough to satisfy our craving for this wonderful Cheesecake.

Ingredients:
graham cracker pie crust 9"
2 1/3 (8 oz.) Regular Cream Cheese at room temperature
3/4 Cup Sugar
3/16 Cup Corn Starch
1 2/3 Tsp. Vanilla
2 Eggs
7/16 Whipping Cream
Directions for the Cheesecake Filling
Preheat the oven to 350degrees
Place an 8 ounce package of the cream cheese, 1/3 cup of the sugar, and the cornstarch in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on low until creamy, about 3 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Beat in the remaining packages of cream cheese.
Increase the mixer speed to high and beat in the remaining of sugar, then beat in the vanilla. Blend in the eggs, one at a time, beating the batter well after adding each one. Blend in the heavy cream. At this point, mix the filling only until completely blended (just like they do at Junior's).
Be careful not to over mix the batter.
Gently spoon the cheese filling on top of the Graham Cracker base pie.
Bake the cheesecake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until the center barely jiggles when you shake the pan, about 40 minutes.
Cool the cake on a wire rack for 1 hour. Then cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate until it's completely cold, at least 4 hours or overnight. Put the garnish on top and drizzle with glaze.
ENJOY !!

A Little Gift with A Meaningful Blessing
Hello everyone ! I hope you had a wonderful day ! As well as your weekend !
Ours was nice. We did yard sale-ing but didn't find anything that interest us. Friends of ours invited us for a cook out. We had a great time catching up with things in our life. My husband made a "Junior Cheesecake from NYC" for dessert.
With all those great times. I have something greatest to share with you. This opening my eyes to all the blessings I have or will.
Sunday morning when I got to church. One of our friends told me that someone gave me something and its sitting on the table. I already guess what it was. Something from my Secret Sister. But I don't have any idea what kind of gift was it.
I opened the bag when I was in nursery room ( I was in charge last Sunday ). I was shocked what I found inside.
It may very simple. But for me it really meaningful and blessed me so very much. Beyond this soap, candle and notepad. We were out of hand soap in the extra bath room. Usually, I got lots of stock pile in the cabinet. I didn't go to buy it. Because I'mcheap waiting for coupon.
Here I'm on Sunday morning found something that I really need. God used my Secret Sister to provided it.
Yes...I promise will buy me some more hand soap :) As a matter of fact. I did try yesterday at Bath And Body Works with coupons 20% off everything. One free product up to $12.50 no purchase necessary.
Filled out my basket and just to found out my coupon not active yet starting today. So I put back all the soaps etc. My husband just shaking his head. ( Sorry...Babe your wife is too much :)
This little blessing reminding me of God's Love and His care for me. Even something that seems very little to me.
Most of the time I ( we ) just see a big blessings in our life.
Thank you so much my secret sister for the meaningful gift. Most of all your prayers !

Road Trip to St. Louis, MO
Hi All ! I hope you have a great today as always ! Or even life give you a sour taste. Let's try to take the bright side of it :)
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I made a road trip to St. Louis, MO. We visited friend of ours. It's took us about 15 hours drive. Yay...to my husband he did it all by himself. Yes...I did not help him not because I'm a bad wife :) But I have a problem driving on high speed ( high way ). My heart beat start to pounding like crazy. So better be safe than sorry.
Also thank God for our Honda Civic Hybrid. Save us lots of money with the gas price now days.
We stopped by at Tamarack West Virginia. This place sell lots of craft and goodies. The only problem the price is not on my budget. So we just browsing and enjoy all the gallery most of them are beautiful and made by talented people.
Don't you love this basket with the Antler handle. If I'm not mistaken the price almost close to $100
The weather wasn't that great that day :( |

Love this lamp. The bright deep blue color. And the price $460. Wish...I have that budget for a lamp.
Oh...this table is very unique made by a local artist. He is a retired Dentist if I'm not mistaken. Can you tell the story on this table. Yes...this table is a piece of conversation in your house. If you do have money to buy it. Oh my...the price for this real bronze dog table with glass top close to $13000 ( Yes...I'm not kidding thirteen thousand )
Our friend live in St. Peter area so have to drive about 30 minutes to downtown St. Louis. And I also went to Goodwill Outlet there but sorry to say I think Goodwill Outlet in my area is much better.
We went to Arch Gateway although the weather wasn't what you expecting when you were visiting some place. But we still had a great time. And I think was better so not to crowded.
We got the arch top to our self ( see there is always something good in a bad time :)}
The view from up there was beautiful. You can see how big is the city of St. Louis.
We had lunch at Bogarts Smoke House their food was really great. If you do love BBQ ( like my husband ) you should try this place whenever you visit St. Louis. I love their baked bean and pickles.
We stopped by at the local Farmers Market. You see that rain it was pouring. Thank God later in the day the sky clear up a little bit. So we were able to explore more.
We went to Delmar Loop area. I search online and they said it is a great place to hang out. It reminding me of some area in NYC-Astoria. When I see they have bubble tea café almost similar to the one in NYC. I got me one cup and I'm glad I did :)
Washington University is in this area. So lots of college student hang out here. They called this area a "college town".
Just being silly :) |
Since my husband and I love history. Well...he called me a historical wife ( remembering all the bad things in the past :)
We went to Daniel Boon house about 30 minutes drive from St. Peter. The weather was amazingly beautiful that day. This village site bring you the 1800 life style of American people.
Sadly, in my country we still have this kind of village until now. And people live in it with all the facilities almost the same.
We really enjoy it. Especially my husband. It bring different perspective for both of us.
My husband tried to do tomahawk and he did great.
Grocery store back in that time. Can you imagine shopping in that place in now days?
Hotel in early 1800
View of the whole town. Isn't it beautiful and peaceful. Just love it !!
Daniel Boone house. Actually this house belongs to his son. But he died in this house. From what the guide tour told us they build this house very similar to his.
One night we went to downtown St. Charles. Love this historic downtown. I just wish we went there during day time. There are lots of store and most of them close around 5 pm.
We got there around 8 and Saturday night so you can imagine the crowd going to bar or dinner. We stopped by at this old style ice cream store. And Love it ( a little bit of sweet always good :) }
On the way back home on Sunday morning we stopped by at this local church that we found from Google in Nashville, IL.
We had a great time worshiped and praised God. Also they gave each of us this great welcoming favor.
This trip was great and really tiring. Especially my husband drove back and forth. And passed 5 States along the way.

This is Much Better { $10 Chandelier Makeover}
Hi Y'all ! {No, I am not a Southerner} My husband and his family used that term a lot and I just love to hear it. As a matter of fact I think I use that more often now since we moved out from NY. When I was live in NY-Queens I heard "Hi guys" a lot. I hope y'all have a wonderful day and much better than yesterday.
When we moved in to our apartment. The dining room have this an old hanging lamp. And I want to change it. My husband hesitate to do so because its pain in the neck to take out and put back the old one whenever we move out. Since I kept bugging him about it ( well not really but I mention it as much as I can when we had our dinner ).
Also I started to stalking craigslist for a chandelier. I found this brass chandelier. I mention it to my lovely husband and come with me to pick it up.
I deal a lot with Craigslist especially to sell all of my project but when it come to pick something I always ask my husband to come with me. { Ha...lots of crazy story out there:) }
The person who sell the chandelier asked for $20 and I did bargain for $10. Yup...they gave it for $10..Yay...!
Now I have a bright shining dining room without breaking my bank. Hopefully my husband will be happy to put back that old hanging lamp when the time come for us to move out :)

I cleaned, sand paper and spray painted it with bronze color. I used 2-3 coats of paint without primer. Now its much better. I LOVE the new to me chandelier. Total cost for this project about $20 or less between paint, light bulb and the chandelier.

Full Of Autumn Color Tablescape
Happy Tuesday All ! I hope this Tuesday brought you Joy and thankful heart. Although circumstances around you uncertain and promising !!
I love to decorate our little apartment with stuff that I already have. Yes, in frugal way without spending tons of money. But still give me a festive home to enjoy.
Today I will share Autumn tablescape with you. I use the plates that I purchased from Goodwill Outlet a while back for about $1.50/4 pcs. Silverware, glass, bowl and fabric napkins from my kitchen cabinet. The only recently purchased on this tablescape is the mum $.96 from Wal-Mart.
My tablescape full of color from Fall. And I want it to flow with the "mantel" decoration also the door wreath. I used all the natural Fall color red, yellow, green, brown and orange.
For the centerpiece I used a big platter that friend of mine gave me as a house warming. I just put the mum and couple of pinecones and leaves around it.

I used faux apples and leaves for a touch of Fall inside the bowl. I used paper napkin as placemat. I love the flower pattern and the color on it.
