Our 2014 Christmas Decoration !

Hi All !

It has been a while that I didn't do anything with this blog. We have been busy between traveling with my husband job and also moving to Tennessee. Finally, we just moved in to our new place a week and half ago. So, we still have lots of boxes unpacking. But I managed to pull out some of my Christmas decoration and put them all together.

We have our new to us tree this year. We got from the auction for $5. What a steal !! We just love how it turned out. Also, this year I use lots of red and white ornaments.

I just love to see the house with all this decorations. Give the feeling what a wonderful season is Christmas. Also, all the story about Christmas. We display 2 of our nativity set. Love the nativity story.

Have a blessed Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2015

Our Trip To Lancaster PA

This past week we went to visit Lancaster Pa. This was not part of our trip plan. My husband has a job from his company in Lancaster, PA. So, we took this opportunity to see bible on the stage. We were thinking this is a great opportunity since we are moving soon.

We stayed for 2 nights at the hotel not far from the Sight and Sound theatre. As always we love the show. It's really a blessing to see how great all the actor/actress with their character. Most of all they deliver the message very great and touch my heart.

We look around Lancaster for a little bit before we heading back. Since we have been here for a couple of times we didn't  do much. We just bought pie and bakery from Amish store. My husband love their pie.

Weekend Blessing !!

Titus 3 : 3-7

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Living in a Hotel

Taking a vacation and getting away from your normal activities for about a week sounds really appealing. Don't you agree ? But going away from your house for about more than 2 months and living in hotel. What do you think ? Especially  when you are staying in the fanciest hotel in town :)

My husband has been living in a hotel for more than 2 months. He is doing a project for his job in their corporate office. I come along with him about a month ago.

The company put my husband in an Extended Stay America. My husband doesn't have much of a problem about living in a hotel. Basically, he just comes to the hotel to sleep at night. As for me, living in a hotel is a different story. I don't have a job at the moment, so I have to find something to keep me busy while he is at work.

Do I wish I could stay in my own space with all of the stuff that I am familiar with? Sure. I would love that! But... to be close with my husband on a daily basis, I have to sacrifice all of those things.

Some activities to keep me busy during the day when my husband is working. And keep my sanity !

1. Being Content

I give thanks that I still have place to stay and remember what brought us here... my husband job. That means we still have a job to help us survive in a tough economy and enjoy the opportunity to travel. It is so hard to find a job in today's world.

2. Work/Activity

I don't have a regular day job with regular hours. So, I sell stuff on eBay and searching for stuff at thrift stores to sell and make some money. I also love to blog.

3. Keep my schedule in order

8 am- 9am : wake up ( I noticed that I have become lazy since living in the hotel ) my husband said "you never wake that late at home". Not sure what is going on :)

9 am- 11am : devotion time, breakfast & coffee, check email, call back home to Indonesia

11am-12:30 : take a shower; prepare lunch for me and my husband ( we always have a lunch date either in the room or out at a restaurant )

1pm- pm : working on my eBay store or blog/ reading blogs ( or some other activity )

3:30-4pm : quick nap

4pm-5:30pm: preparing dinner; checking the internet/facebook

5:30-6:30 : dinner with hubby

6:30-9pm: we go for a walk or browsing the Cincinnati area

9-11pm : Back into the hotel spending time with hubby/quiet time

Repeat again Monday-Friday

4. Exploring the city we stay

During the weekend we have lots of activities either staying and exploring the city where we are or go back home to check our house to make sure it is still in one piece. Last weekend, we took a road trip to Chicago.

Thrifting Found in Cincinnati OH

My husband has been in Cincinnati since the first week of  September. He has a project at his home base company which is in Cincinnati for about 3 months. He stay in hotel studio with  kitchenette . I came here in first week of October to be with him.

While we are here, we take the advantage exploring the City of Cincinnati. One thing I like to do go to thrift store.

We visit Goodwill store a few days ago. Discount system in Virginia and Cincinnati is different. On the day that we went they have 50 % off everything no exclusion. They always have some kind of discount everyday. I have the whole month of October calendar.

They do have Value City Thrift, this store only have 25 % of on Monday. But if you have patient looking through out the store you might find something for .29 and hit the jack pot. The store is huge, well at least the one that we have been in Fairfield area also the one close to Kenwood area ( I forgot the exact )

We found some nice things from Goodwill with reasonable price after the discount. Note : Goodwill price now days is very high in my opinion.

We found this Waterford footed compote for $3 after discount. This is a real steal. Someone sell it on eBay for $200. We debating should we sell it or keep it :)

All these clothes 50 % off from $4.99 I found some good stuff and one of them still new. Don't you just love thrifting :)????

For The Love of Andy Griffith Show

This past weekend my husband and I took a trip up to the mountains of  North Carolina... Mt. Airy to be exact. Mayberry days were in full swing and husband is a big fan of the Andy Griffith show and he watches it every night before he goes to bed. I know you would be bored but not my husband. There is something about that show that makes him fall asleep right away.

This weekend, we decided to take a trip to see our first Mayberry day. This is our second trip to visit Mt. Airy the first one was here.

Andy Griffith must be a family thing because his cousin is even crazier about the show. What a great way to spend time with family. We meet them at his parents farm house which wasn't far from Mt. Airy... about a 30 minute drive.

We got there Friday afternoon and went to Mt. Airy for a couple of hours. Because it was Friday there wasn't much going on. Basically, we just walked around the town and visited the courthouse. Spending the night at the farm house was great. We really enjoyed  the hospitability of my husband's Aunt and Uncle. We slept so good. I just love the feeling of the mountains and the quietness of the farm. They have such a nice and warm, welcoming family. Life in the country reminds me of my the times I visited my grandma as a child.

The next morning we went to Mt. Airy again for the parade which started at 9 o'clock in the morning. I personally loved the parade but there didn't seem to be much else that you didn't have to pay to see. We went to the Andy Griffith museum and had lunch at snappy lunch. I heard it was really famous for their pork chop sandwich. It was worth the 40 minute wait in line. I think this was the most popular place in town and the price wasn't bad at all.

Yum pork chop sandwich from snappy lunch !!

My husband wasn't really impressed with Mayberry days. They don't put very much into it. For me it's a very basic festival. I think because this show is getting old or is it just me. But we still enjoyed our weekend and had a great time with the family.

What a peaceful life in the country

My husband's cousin and his wife

My husband's Aunt and Uncle and us

And the most interesting thing was my husband just found out about the family history from his uncle that his great grandparents from his dad's side came and used to live in the town close the his Aunt's farm house. We went to visit his great grandparents cemetery.
My husband's great grandparents were once a members of this church and his great grandma used to play organ here
