Pottery Barn Inspired Vase and Special Flowers

Hi all I hope you had a great weekend ! Mine was great and relaxing. We hang around the house and run a couple of errands. My husband and I were had a nice dinner to celebrate my birthday and watched Les Misérables.

He got me these beautiful flowers. He just knew how to make me happy with my favorite flowers and of course I love them. Most of all I just so blessed to have him by my side on my birthday.

These tulips are perfect color for my "new" to me vase that I just made.

It inspired by Pottery Barn vase.

 

 

I love how the blue vase and yellow tulips come together.

36 Things About Me { Happy Birthday To Me }

Hi there I hope you all have a blessed weekend !

Today is my special day the day that God decided to bring me to this world through my parents. I want to share 36 things about me you might you want to know. Let's start shall we :)

1. I was born and raised in Sumatra Island Indonesia

2. I love Jesus

3.  I was born and raised in Lutheran and saved ( born again) when I live in NYC

4. I love my husband and so blessed to be his wife

5. I'm the only girl from 5 siblings

6. I lost my Dad and Mom (14 years after Dad) at my young age

7. I helped my Mom to raised my youngest brothers as she worked hard to provide for the family.

8. I used to skip school a couple of times at high school { I know I was bad }

9. I had my Associate degree from computer programming { If you ask me now about programming I don't have any clue at all :( }

10. I was active at my church back home { Medan }

11. I used to live in NYC for more than 10 years ( Queens ) before I moved to Virginia

12. I'm a Baptist after I moved to US

13. I love a big city life { starting to love Virginia though :) }

14. I can't swim { feel scared when my feet can't touch the ground level of the pool or ocean }

15. I don't like roller coaster

16. I'm scared of heights

17. I can't sing { surprise I used to join choirs at my church }

18. I love rice :)

19. I love to work with kids

20. I had my driver license for over 10 years and just active drive for the last 4 years.

21. I don't like exercise

22. I start to use and speak English since I came to the State still need a lot improvement.

23. I'm bad at grammar { you might figured that out by now :) }

24. I love spicy food

25. I love beach

26. I love outdoor space ( hiking, gardening or even just enjoy the weather )

27. I met my husband online

28. I speak 3 different language { Batak, Indonesia, and English}

29. I'm 4.11 tall and 5 and 1/2 shoes { I love being petite }

30. I love couponing ( since mid 2012)

31. I love chocolate

32. I love to bake but not to eat what I baked :)

33. My favorite flowers are orchid, jasmine and calla lilies

34. I can't sew

35. I'm a morning person

36. I'm thankful that God bless me with this big number in my life { although my hair start changing color :) }

Makeover Goodwill End Table

Hi all I hope you have a great Friday ! Is beautiful day today in my area!

I have been busy with my ebay stuff and talked on the phone with my sister in-law back in my country also my aunt for hours. I enjoyed the moment when I'm able to do this and they filled me up with what they up to and vise versa.

A couple of  weeks ago I got this end table from goodwill for a good bargain.

This is after the makeover picture.

I sand paper it. I put red mahogany finish that I already have and I applied polyurethane. I painted with Valspar light blue from  free sample I got from facebook offer awhile back.

I spray painted the hardware and keep the original.

 

 

 

 I love the details on the legs ! This end table available on craiglist now !

Visit, Lavender Farm and Shopping

I hope you all had a great weekend.

We went to Harrisonburg, Va to visit one of my husband friend from high school. We were so blessed by his testimony. His Mom is such a sweet heart. His name is Jack. He is been paralyzed for more than 10 years according to my husband. He is unable to do anything, basicly he needs assistant 24/7. Yet, he still praise God and in good spirit. Pray for him as he is going to nursing home sometimes in Summer { I know is hard for him with his young age}. 

We stop by at this Lavender Farm.

The road going to the Farm.The view is amazing and the weather is beautiful.

This lavenders not in bloom yet. They will bloom arround June-July. I am sure when they are in bloom the farm will smell wonderful and relaxing :)

Before we left the farm we bought this good stuff and bring them home with us :)

 

We also managed to look around Harrisonburg and of course window shopping hunting for bargain. We stop by at Goodwill and found a couple of stuff { I will share next time what I found :)}. I found stuff from K Mart they had 90 % off Easter stuff.

I spent a little over $5 for all this goody!

 

We stop by at Sweet Frog { our favorite frozen yogurt store }. We had a nice Saturday and we were glad we went to visit Jack. We have been planning to do this for a while. Jack and his Mom were happy to see us as well. Hopefully we can come to visit again. Most of all we praying for them both.

 

Sunday after the church service we went to the local park and had a little picnic. Before the day over we went to the Outlet to get some bargain from J.Crew, Banana Republic and Nautica.

Country Looking End Table

 

This table has been sitting on my patio for quite awhile. Since the weather is nice outside. I'm starting to work on it. I put wax finish red mahogany on the top. This picture is the first coat.

 

 

After the second coat dry. I applied polyurethane oil base.

 

When the table top done. I'm starting working on the legs. I put antique white by valspar.

 

I spray paint the door knob with black

 

Finally this table is done and looks good !

Not too shabby !!

Simple Flowers Wreath

 

 

I love how this simple wreath turned out. I made it out of this 50 cent Goodwill found wreath. I wrapped it with the leftover fabric that I already have. I made a couple of flowers using the fabric as well. I glued gun all the flowers, silk leaves and some of purple silk flowers I already have as well.

 

 I cut out toilet paper roll and make this cute flower out of it.

Love the colors so soft and bring the happy feelings into my house.

 Beautiful looking to welcome my company or my husband and I :)

Dinner & Hiking

Happy Monday all !

Today I want to share our dinner weekend and some of the cooking I did. We had friends come over and we had a great time and nice dinner.



I made this dinner roll. My husband favorite dinner roll so far :)

 Banana cupcakes, well according to my husband is banana muffins. They were turn out good.

This simple salad. I called it Spring salad { colorful }

Baked bean top with bacon { yummy} We had rib and corn on a cob along with all these food. Our friends brought a dessert chocolate mousse pie.

Sunday afternoon after the church service we went to this local hiking trail. We were looking for the other hiking trail and couldn't find it. Instead we found this and we love it.

 Love all the trees !
