I did this candy cane vase last year as a gift to friends and just filled it with green and a bunch of roses. And they just loved it.
I made one gladly. This project is really easy and affordable, yet it is very festive for this Christmas season. Who doesn't like flowers unless you have allergic to them, of course. I couldn't imagine people going through life with this problem. Having fresh flowers in my house always gives me a happy feeling. I told my husband the other day "God must know what makes women happy to create so many different kinds of flowers."
Back to my project. All you need is candy canes, a mason or sauce jar in my case :) hot glue, green and flowers ( I use roses ). You can use whatever flower is on sale at your grocery store.
Glue the candy canes around the jar until full and no empty spaces.
Roses from the grocery store and green from your yard or if you don't have one, just ask friends :)
Final touch... wrap the ribbon around and glue it. How easy is that :)
I printed this sign with Microsoft word and just used a sign holder for flowers and here you have a beautiful gift for Christmas !!!
Total cost for this project is $ 11 ( $9.99 roses + 2 boxes candy cane .50/each last year after Christmas sale + jar free + glue and ribbon already have )

LOVE this! And my sons would go totally gaga over it. Of course, they would probably try to snag the candy canes to eat them too... ;) Thanks so much for sharing at Get Your DIY On! I hope to see you back on Sunday at 7 pm EST to link up any of your favorite projects! Have a wonderful weekend!
