Testimony That Nobody Else Can Experience

Hi all ! Hope you had a wonderful day!

This post is very personal to me and a little bit long. I hope you enjoy it and are blessed. I went to prayer meeting this past Wednesday and there was a missionary who came to share his ministry at our church.

On the way to the church, I was talking to my husband about people we knew. This person needs a lot of prayer and hopefully will one day accept Jesus as personal savior. I said to my husband "I think there is no need to pray for this person anymore. If this person will change, it would have happened a long time ago". My husband told me we still need to pray. I didn't say further words.

When we got to church, my husband went to Masters Club to help where needed. I went to the service in the main sanctuary. Something convicted me during the sermon from Act 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth"

Since the preacher was a missionary, he quoted this very verse. This message really blessed me. Every message from the Bible should be a blessing, but this one spoke directly to my heart. God can talk to us differently even when we read the same verse over and over. That is the beauty of God's Word. Only God can make it happen and prove to us that HE is a living God.

The blessings that I got from this preaching brought me back to the first time I got saved. I was born and raised with Lutheran beliefs. My Mom ( my father died when we were very young) always taught us to go to church every Sunday without fail. As a family, we went to praise and worship Him. I grew up in the church and was very involved in the church. I worked in ministries like Children Church, Choir, etc.

I thought I was a good Christian and should go to heaven but there was no assurance in my heart like the bible said in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

In 2001, I came to the states and my uncle asked me the question " Where do you go if you die now? " I was quiet for a second and answered him " Heaven" but still there was doubt in my heart. I started attending their church in NYC. In this church I learned a lot and studied the bible. In the summer 2001 I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. At this moment, I realized that it doesn't matter what you have done. If you never accept Jesus as your personal Savior all those things will not count because He will come one day as a judge { Revelation 19 }.

I am so blessed to know this truth and found salvation. Thank you Jesus for paying all of my debt and dying for me on the cross. Now I have eternal life. Am I perfect? Is that why Jesus saved me? Absolutely not. I'm a sinful person just like anyone else and I make mistakes from time to time. I'm saved just because of His Grace. Did I stop here ? No. I shared my faith with my family. Is it always easy? No. As a child of God, I am conpelled to tell of my Savior because I love them and do not want them to have the assumptions I had.

Back to the bible verse from the missionary's message. How do you share the gospel with somebody you know... just by sharing your own testimony. Sound very easy doesn't it? Well, not always but through the power of the Holy Spirit we can do it.

I remembered our conversation in the car on the way to church about praying for the person you think has already made up their mind not to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Who am I to say that? I don't know what the future holds. As long as that person is still breathing, there is always time and chance. I admitted my sin to God that night and said I'm sorry and asked for forgiveness. I prayed for that person and hopefully one day that person will accept Jesus as personal Savior.

Thank you God for always working in very amazing ways that I can never imagine!

What is your testimony? If you have one, I'm sure it is very personal to you... that nobody else can experience it... because the way you and I met our Savior is very personal. If you don't have one yet, I pray that you will find Jesus soon as your very own. Jesus is waiting patiently my friends !!!
