Hi Y'all ! {No, I am not a Southerner} My husband and his family used that term a lot and I just love to hear it. As a matter of fact I think I use that more often now since we moved out from NY. When I was live in NY-Queens I heard "Hi guys" a lot. I hope y'all have a wonderful day and much better than yesterday.
When we moved in to our apartment. The dining room have this an old hanging lamp. And I want to change it. My husband hesitate to do so because its pain in the neck to take out and put back the old one whenever we move out. Since I kept bugging him about it ( well not really but I mention it as much as I can when we had our dinner ).

Also I started to stalking craigslist for a chandelier. I found this brass chandelier. I mention it to my lovely husband and come with me to pick it up.

It's similar to this when I picked it up ( I found this on craigslist today ) |
I deal a lot with Craigslist especially to sell all of my project but when it come to pick something I always ask my husband to come with me. { Ha...lots of crazy story out there:) }
The person who sell the chandelier asked for $20 and I did bargain for $10. Yup...they gave it for $10..Yay...!
I cleaned, sand paper and spray painted it with bronze color. I used 2-3 coats of paint without primer. Now its much better. I LOVE the new to me chandelier. Total cost for this project about $20 or less between paint, light bulb and the chandelier.
Now I have a bright shining dining room without breaking my bank. Hopefully my husband will be happy to put back that old hanging lamp when the time come for us to move out :)

Love the chandy, what a cool make over, love the black, when you tire of this you can then paint it all white or red, don't you just love the things you can do with a can of paint and save all that money, I love that and love your look..Phyllis
ReplyDeleteThank you Phyllis ! I agreed with you. Whenever the time come or I get bored with it. I can always change the color :)

DeleteA great makeover! I'm impressed that you were able to buy that chandelier for $10 and give it a whole new life! I'm guessing your husband won't mind taking it down for you when the time comes--although your landlord may want to buy it from you! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Richella ! I had a happy dance when they accepted my offer with that price :) And I have to make sure we take it with us when we move out :)
